Tatiana is a Ukrainian writer and librarian, who arrived in London as a refugee in March 2022, following the conflict.

In November 2023, Tatiana joined HealthProm's Golden Age Hub for older Ukrainians in Islington because she was struggling to live with her family that she had been staying with temporarily. Her housing situation was unstable and she was worried about where she would live. She eventually became unhoused and was in desperate need of support.

At HealthProm, she met with Lena Salomon, HealthProm’s Ukrainian Refugee Project Coordinator. Lena immediately helped her fill out the necessary paperwork to obtain council housing-- a task that was nearing impossible for Tatiana to figure out on her own giving her limited knowledge about the housing system and how to fill out the forms. Tatiana’s request for housing was approved and she was able to make a new home for herself.

Tatiana also received a laptop and an oyster card with help from HealthProm. Alongside this, Tatiana says she received emotional support from the HealthProm team, and from attending fun events like art class where she developed new friendships and connections, significantly improving her mental health.

Tatiana said she ‘highly recommends’ HealthProm’s services as she believes that all Ukrainians need help in light of the current situation in Ukraine.
