Thank you for taking part!
A huge thank you from HealthProm for deciding to fundraise for us! We are thrilled that you have decided to raise money for our cause, and we will support you in your fundraising and in the lead-up to the event.
We have put together this fundraising pack so you can get a head-start on your fundraising.
Social Media
Social media is a fantastic way to raise awareness of your event, and to raise donations. You can keep your supporters up to date with your training, share pictures or stories, and promote your online donation page.
On Facebook, you can join our event on the HealthProm page, which will be updated with information from HealthProm and supporters. You may want to set up your own Facebook event and invite friends and family to join—this can be especially handy if you are part of a group taking part in the event. By linking your Facebook event to your online donation page, you make it easier for people to donate with just a few clicks.
You can "follow" HealthProm on Twitter, where we will also keep you informed and supported. Mention us in tweets, and we’ll re-tweet!
You can also use social media to continue fundraising after the event has taken place, especially if you have a target that you would like to reach. Let people know how the event went or what time you completed it. Perhaps you could write about why you decided to take part in the event for HealthProm.
JustGiving Donation Page
Make sure you set up an online donation page, this will make it easier for your supporters to donate and help you track your total fundraising amount, including pledges.
You will be able to connect your donation page to HealthProm’s JustGiving page, where you will be able to see the fundraising community. Feel free to exchange fundraising tips and advice with the other fundraisers. Go to justgiving.com/health-prom and join our fundraising page!
If you would like any help setting up an online donation page, you can email Lisa at [email protected].
Use your email
Don’t be afraid to send emails explaining your event why you are raising money for HealthProm. Many people won’t be active on social media but would still like to donate. This is also has a really nice personal touch to your fundraising appeal if you want to avoid updating social media. You can still link your Facebook and Twitter pages so they can follow you, and don’t forget to give them a link to your online donation page.
You can email your family and friends who wouldn’t be on social media, and also those in your local community – especially those people who you think HealthProm’s cause could be close to their heart.
It is even possible for you to contact your local press, perhaps write a short article for the local newspaper. Don’t forget to include photos as these tend to catch the eye of the reader. Write about why you want to raise money for HealthProm and, what the event will be and where it will take place, and include how people can donate to your event or to the charity.
Your email signature is also an excellent way to raise awareness of your fundraising. This way, you don’t even have to think about raising awareness as each email you send will direct people to your fundraising
pages. You can set up a signature with a very brief description of your event and HealthProm, followed by your online donation page and social media. For example;
