This is an excellent opportunity for somebody wishing to gain key skills and experience in project management and UK charity sector. A significant part of the successful candidate’s duties will be providing support to our new project for Afghan refugee children in London.

Volunteer ESOL Teachers
Term of position: Up to 6 months
Reporting to: Project Manager
Key responsibilities: Plan, organise and deliver English Sessions with migrant women in the UK on a weekly basis. Ideal time commitment: one-two hours weekly, ideally a minimum of 3 months
Job description and person specification:
HealthProm is a charity working to support the health and wellbeing of vulnerable people in the UK and abroad. We have recently launched a project working with Afghan refugees in the UK. In order to assist integration into society, and elevate social isolation, we will be running weekly English language sessions for our participants.
We are seeking a dependable, self-motivated, organised volunteer ESOL teacher to help us with our English language sessions for migrant women in London once or twice a week (expenses paid).
Desirable requirements:
·ESOL qualification or equivalent experience (CELTA, PGCE, DTLLS with specialism in ESOL/Literacy)
·Ability to differentiate for learners of different abilities in the same class
This role would suit a newly qualified or trainee teacher or a retired ESOL Practitioner. In return, you will gain valuable teaching experience in the charity sector in a supportive environment.
Please feel free to apply if you see yourself as a candidate who could successfully deliver one or both of these sessions. The lessons will take place for one hour each per week. The approximate amount of time needed from you would be no more than 3 hours per week, including the time spent creating slides and planning for the session delivery.
Some of these sessions will be delivered in person, with the potential of running zoom classes as well. Training will be provided on the use of Zoom and Powerpoint if required.
This is a really rewarding position for any candidate who wants to gain experience running English classes, working with migrants, or simply to give some of their time to brightening the week of vulnerable people living in the UK.
