We are thrilled to announce that we successfully completed our project in Belarus in collaboration with our local partners. Launched in 2020, the project focused on protecting the rights of children with severe disabilities and life-limiting conditions and their families across all regions of Belarus. The EU and British Embassy Minsk funded our activities.
Working with four local partners over the last three years, we increased support for families and children with severe disabilities and life-limiting conditions by offering comprehensive community-based support and strengthening the capacity of local partners to provide such support to families. Our work encompassed legal advice and consultations, advocacy work, social media campaigns on parental and children's rights, training for parents on how to become their children’s advocate and training for health, social and educational specialists on how to support families.
We notably supported over 6,500 children with disabilities and their families and reached over 850,000 people through our social media campaigns to raise awareness on civil rights protections.
We wish to thank our project partners, donors and all who were involved in the implementation of this project.
